Asma Rashid
MD, MPH, Founder
Dr. Rashid is a Harvard-trained, board-certified, child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. After graduating from King Edward Medical University, she joined the Harvard School of Public Health to get her master’s in public health. She did her adult psychiatry training at the University of Connecticut and child & adolescent fellowship with Harvard University at Boston Children’s Hospital.
She later joined the faculty at Boston University/Boston Medical Center as a clinical assistant professor, providing clinical care to diverse patient populations and also supporting clinical teaching and training of medical students and psychiatry residents. She later joined advanced psychoanalytic therapy training from Boston Psychoanalytic Society and utilizes psychoanalytical therapeutic approaches in her clinical framework. She provides individual therapy and medication management.
During her evaluation and ongoing work, she considers various factors such as, genetic predisposition, biological, psychological and social processes to understand the person fully.
Her work with children and adolescents involves parent participation and a liaison with other key providers. She also has extensive experience of working with schools performing psychiatric evaluations, with children and teenagers struggling with mood, anxiety, attention, behavior and learning difficulties.
Her areas of specialties are psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, child, adolescent, and adult diagnostic and medication evaluations for ADHD, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
