Nadia Carter

Nadia is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and has worked in psychiatry in different capacities since 2009. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She started in psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and decided to dedicate her career working in mental health. Nadia later received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.

She currently works at several Boston area hospitals, where she provides compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based care in various clinical environments. She is primarily at Boston Medical Center, a Boston University-affiliated hospital, working at the psychiatric urgent care clinic, providing medication management & rapid access to psychiatric services. Nadia also works part-time at Harvard-affiliated hospitals, Massachusetts General Hospital & McLean Hospital, where her role entails assessing and stabilizing individuals in acute psychiatric crisis.

Clinically, she has experience in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings and works with a number of mental health issues, notably depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma. Nadia’s approach is holistic and collaborative and her practice incorporates viewing patients from biological, psychological and social perspectives, as well as working with patients to attain their mental health goals through pharmacotherapy & therapeutic interventions.
